Ourselves

A new side project from members of Snapcase: http://www.ourselvesrock.com

Some of the wording on the Snapcase site worries me...kind of eludes to Snapcase not playing anymore? I may be paranoid....but that would be absolutely horrible.

"Ourselves" has a Pure Volume site too, they have two instrumentals up, and a cover tribute to Jawbox.

Check them out....

Quote: "...is there life after Snapcase?"

That must mean they are done. At least they are giving more information than Man or..Astroman? is giving us

Well I can only surmise that the drummer, bassist and one guitarist from snapcase is in it. Maybe the vocalist and the other guitarist are doing something else? Sorry I don't know the names. But what's with the butterfly and all lower case letters? Emo is sooooo yesterday.

You're right, it's so 2001.

But emo is definitely still around, everyone just disguises it as something different - pop punk, screamo, etc.

If you listen to the cover and the instrumentals though, you definitely hear the Snapcase blood rushing through. I'm going to e-mail Ourselves and ask them what Darryl (Snapcase vocal) is doing now. My focus in life is to make sure Darryl isn't lonely or scared.

Go Darryl!

I want to help make sure Daryll isn't lonely too. He's so small I could stick him in my duffel bag and have him scream words of positive encouRAGEment whilst I work out.

Just saw that Snapcase will be playing their FINAL SHOW on January 22, 2005 in Buffalo. I think this may require a road trip.

This is sad.

Okay, I listened to the demos. It sounds like snapcase. It's Frank's minimalist rock guitar (which I really dig). I was kind of expecting something fresh though. It's going to be a hard sell to have a vocalist that commands as much as Daryl. Hopefully they'll do more than what the demos have shown. So far to me it'll just be Snapcase w/o the soothing screams that I can tolerate.

I still don't get the emo imagery.

I want to know the skinny on why there is a break up.

January 22nd will RAWK!
