Well I just found this out...
The Mars Volta have a new CD coming out titled "Frances the Mute" to be released on March 1st, 2005.
From Billboard.com:
"the new set features 77 minutes of music spread across five tracks, three of which contain multiple subsections."

The new Mars Volta is high on my anticipated list this year...after seeing them live --> they are without a doubt one of the most talented bands ever. Four out of five people in the world (or just who I asked) agree that they ARE the modern day Led Zeppelin.
A friend of mine has the new CD - "Frances the Mute" - don't know if it was bootlegged, pirated, snuck across the border; he received it from a friend in Texas. I've heard it all the way through once - it IS different from their last album, but c'mon - this is THE MARS VOLTA, OF COURSE IT'S GONNA BE DIFFERENT - THEY CUT UP IMPROVISATION AND PUT IT ON THEIR CHEERIOS EVERY MORNING.
Just you wait for the 1/2 hour track; constant awe.
